Here's an idiom for you to try out this week in your daily speaking practice!

This phrase is always used in the workplace and can be quite annoying! 🤣
It is said when in a meeting and someone gives an idea - if the idea is a poor one, or maybe one that there isn't time to build upon, or the leader / manager doesn't agree they might say 'let's circle back to that later' - meaning 'we'll come back to that' however often the idea is simply ignored and the discussion moves on.
Don't take too much offence if this happens to you - it comes from being polite, so instead of saying 'no that's a horrible idea!' you can say 'interesting, we'll circle back to that one...'
Just beware of using it yourself as it can sound a bit dismissive and that you're not open to others' ideas.
Let’s have a look at some examples:
Can we circle back on that, just conscious of the short time we have...?
We had lots to discuss so will have to circle back on some peoples' input on another occasion so we don't overrun this meeting.
